PBwiki Acquires Schtuff

There are a lot of Wiki Farms out there. But as of this week, there is one fewer. PBwiki has announced on its blog that it has acquired Schtuff.com for an undisclosed amount.

PBwiki announced a $2 Million funding round from MDV on February 21. On February 12th, we noted many Wikis receiving multi-million dollar funding rounds. However, PBwiki notes they acquired Schtuff using their own customer revenue rather than VC dollars. This speaks volumes to how much PBwiki is interested in incorporating Schtuff’s OpenID support.

PBwiki is the world’s largest wiki hosting company, with over 150,000 wikis and millions of visitors per month. The Schtuff.com acquisition is expected to add as many as a million monthly visitors to PBwiki’s network.
